Both Clanker Workspace and Claude Projects organize AI conversations around supplied knowledge and instructions. Consider Clanker for its combination of Projects, configurable Agents, Apps, and recurring workers. Consider Claude Projects when Claude is already your working environment; evaluate its file creation, artifacts, and separate Cowork capabilities before deciding.

## Compare Projects, then the capabilities around them

This is a documentary comparison reviewed on September 12, 2026, written by Clanker. We have not run a competitor performance test. Claude Projects is the context-organizing feature; Claude file creation, artifacts, Research, and Cowork are related capabilities with their own controls. Treating every Claude surface as a basic chat box would miss relevant alternatives.

Anthropic documents project knowledge and instructions across plans, with enhanced retrieval on paid plans. File creation also exists across plans, subject to capability settings. Start by checking the features enabled in your account. A team trial should use the intended organization account so its controls and sharing options are part of the evaluation.

## Give both products the same supplier decision

Prepare two short fictional proposals and one requirements sheet. Make one proposal omit the implementation owner and make the other qualify its support hours. The desired answer should preserve both gaps. Do not quietly fix the documents between runs, and record any extra explanation needed to get a usable result.

## Score the decision support, not the confidence of the prose

Start with the table. For each material claim, open the source and check that it supports the wording. “Weekday support available by agreement” should not become a guaranteed service window. Mark a result incorrect when it invents a named owner, even if the brief reads smoothly.

Next, inspect the downloaded file rather than relying on the chat preview. Check whether its recommendation, evidence, and qualifications agree. Add a revision request that changes the audience from a technical lead to an operations lead. Count the manual repairs needed to preserve the facts while making the explanation useful.

Finally, return in a later conversation. Ask what changed between proposal versions and which questions remain open. The useful measure is whether a colleague can reconstruct the decision from retained sources and outputs. A single attractive first response does not answer that question.

## Test the exact recipient and artifact surface

Anthropic distinguishes public artifact publishing on personal plans from internal sharing on Team and Enterprise; its Cowork artifact system has separate rules. The chat-artifact sharing guide also warns that associated conversation attachments can become accessible to viewers. Check the applicable guide before using real proposal files.

In either product, first test sharing with fictional content and the intended recipient type. Confirm what the recipient can open, whether the source files are included, and which version is visible. An internal reviewer and an external supplier are different audiences; do not use one successful link test as evidence for both.

## Choose around the work you will repeat

Choose Clanker when you want to keep the decision Project, a reusable review Agent, a private App, and a recurring follow-up worker in its documented workflow. Prove each extension separately: a successful report does not demonstrate that an App preserves edits or that a scheduled task handles missing sources.

Choose Claude Projects when the required knowledge and deliverables already fit your Claude workflow, especially if collaborators use the same organization and its artifact sharing model meets the need. Evaluate Cowork when you need recurring execution; do not assume a Project alone starts background work.

If both trials meet the acceptance checklist, compare ongoing usage and the effort of moving context. Record the plan, enabled features, source versions, and remaining manual steps. Keep the working setup unless the alternative solves a specific recurring problem you can demonstrate.

## Common questions

### What is the difference between a Project, a Session, and an Agent?

A Project keeps related files, instructions, and work together. A Session is a conversation where work happens and progress is recorded. An Agent is the assistant doing the work, with its own instructions, skills, and selected tools.

### Where do I find and review the finished files?

Open your Project’s Files tab or General → Files. In a Session, Preview opens a side panel where you can select a file. Use page, sheet, or slide controls where available, check the contents, and download the result.

### Are Apps and files public as soon as I create them?

Creating or previewing an App does not publish it. Private sharing requires recipients to sign in. Publish only when you want a public link, and review the data included in the result. Manage private sharing in Shared.
