The experimental Google connection in External Apps lets you select accessible Drive files, work with Docs and Sheets from a Session, and save copies into a Project. A saved Project copy is not a live synchronization.

## What you are working toward

A reviewed Google document or spreadsheet and, when requested, a Project copy.

## Start with

- The Google account containing the files

- An explicit selection of files Clanker may use

- A destination Project and a clear edit request

## Connect the right account and choose files

Open External Apps, select Connect Google, and complete sign-in. Use Choose files to select what Clanker can access. Other Drive files remain outside that selection until you choose them.

The connection is experimental. If a file is missing, confirm the connected account and select the file again. Do not assume access to an entire Drive merely because an account is connected.

## Describe the change in a Session

Ask Clanker to create a Doc or Sheet, edit selected document text or sheet cells, search accessible files, or copy files between Drive and the current Project. Name the file and the intended change so it can choose the correct source.

For a report based on a sheet, explain the reporting period, column meanings, and how missing values should be treated. Review the resulting values and text in the actual Google file.

## Use Project copies intentionally

In the Google files list, choose the destination Project and folder under Save copies to, then use Save to project beside the file. Open the destination Files tab to verify the copy.

Later Google edits do not automatically update that Project copy. Request a fresh copy when the source changes and check which version a subsequent Session uses. Return to External Apps to choose more files or disconnect an account.

## Try this prompt

Copy into a Workspace Session. Opening Workspace does not send it automatically.

```text
Use the Google Sheet I selected to summarize this month’s sales. Identify missing values and explain the calculation. Create a Google Doc with the summary, then save a copy in this Project. Show me both outputs for review.
```

## Common questions

### Can I work with Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets?

The experimental Google connection lets you choose accessible files in External Apps, create or edit Docs and Sheets from a Session, and save copies to a Project. Saving a copy is not automatic live sync; request a fresh copy when you need updates.

### Where do I find and review the finished files?

Open your Project’s Files tab or General → Files. In a Session, Preview opens a side panel where you can select a file. Use page, sheet, or slide controls where available, check the contents, and download the result.
