# Keep Claude. Give the work a home.

Make Clanker Workspace the home for the project work you want Claude to keep building on. Connect Claude to your Projects and files, ask it to research or prepare a deliverable, and open the saved result in Workspace. Keep the assistant you like; give the work a place you can return to.

## What you are working toward

Claude working from your Project sources, with a saved result you can inspect and reuse.

## Start with

- A Claude account with custom connectors available

- A Clanker account and a Project with approved or fictional sources

- One result to prepare, such as a supplier decision brief

## A place for the work after the conversation

A good research conversation should leave more than a useful answer in a chat. The next step may need the source documents, the unresolved questions, and the current recommendation. A Clanker Project keeps those files and saved outputs together so you can ask Claude to build on the actual work.

Use this combination for client research, proposal reviews, evidence tables, and recurring briefs. Claude remains the assistant doing the reasoning. Clanker provides the permitted project tools and a browser interface where you can review what was saved.

## Connect Claude to Workspace

Create an account or sign in to Workspace and choose a Project. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors and add a custom connector using https://workspace.clankercloud.ai/mcp. Follow the sign-in flow and review the Workspace permissions.

The current Clanker setup uses Sign in now and Register automatically when Claude offers an OAuth client choice. Enable the connector in the conversation you will use. On organization accounts, an owner may need to add it first; follow the official instructions for your account if the controls differ.

## Start with a Project Claude can actually read

Create a small fictional supplier-review Project and add two proposals plus your selection criteria. Ask Claude to find that Project, identify the source files, and summarize what information is available without changing anything.

Check the content returned, not just whether a connector appears in the menu. If a proposal omits support hours or an implementation owner, Claude should retain that gap. Read access is enough for discovery; approve Edit only when you want to save the reviewed work.

## Turn the research into a saved decision pack

Ask for a decision matrix, a short recommendation, and a handoff note. Require a source behind each material statement and make the unknown terms explicit. This gives the next person something to inspect without reconstructing the entire Claude conversation.

| Project material | Ask Claude to save | What to inspect |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Two supplier proposals | supplier-matrix.md | Same criteria, source references, and missing terms. |
| Your requirements and the checked matrix | decision-brief.md | The recommendation and what could change it. |
| The final brief and open questions | handoff.md | Current files, decisions, and the next useful task. |

## Watch the work in a managed Session

Before saving files or running work, Claude should follow the live MCP guide to start a managed task Session and use its sessionId for changes. The task records public progress and the final result. Your external Claude conversation is not copied into Workspace automatically.

Open Sessions to watch the recorded work and inspect the saved files. Take over ends the managed task and disconnects that MCP connection. The assistant should stop when the task becomes inactive; the control cannot undo effects already submitted to an external service.

## Return to the Project instead of starting over

On the next task, ask Claude to read handoff.md and the current source versions before it continues. If you switch to a compatible ChatGPT connection, ask it to read the same saved context. The bridge is the work you deliberately save, not automatic synchronization of private conversations.

You can later use a native Clanker Agent or a tested Schedule for recurring work. Connecting Claude does not by itself create an unattended worker, and the tools available through MCP and the separate HTTP API have different coverage.

## Keep access and usage understandable

Claude’s own model usage stays with Anthropic. Clanker-hosted AI work and compute use Clanker credits; reading files or recording a Session message does not itself start a Clanker model conversation. Review current pricing before adding hosted execution.

A Project name in a prompt selects the intended task context; it does not narrow the OAuth grant to that Project. The connection operates within the connected user’s accessible Workspace and granted permissions. Manage or disconnect it in Settings → External agents.

## Try this prompt

Copy into Claude with your Workspace connection enabled. Opening Claude does not send the prompt automatically.

```text
Read https://workspace.clankercloud.ai/for-agents.md and https://clankercloud.ai/workspace-agents.md, then help me use Claude with my Clanker Workspace. Use the MCP connection route. If I have not connected it yet, guide me through browser sign-in and the permissions needed for this task.
In the Project I select, read my two supplier proposals and selection criteria. Compare them using the same criteria, cite the source files, and keep missing terms visible. Save supplier-matrix.md, decision-brief.md, and handoff.md with the current files, open questions, and next step. Follow the managed Session contract before changes, keep public progress updated, read back the saved results, and complete the task with their locations. Do not contact suppliers, approve a purchase, publish files, or request billing access.
```

## Before using the result

- Claude found the intended Project and read the actual source files.

- The saved matrix preserves missing terms and cites its evidence.

- A managed task Session records progress and the checked result.

- The handoff identifies the current files and unanswered questions.

## Common questions

### Why use Clanker Workspace alongside Claude?

Use it when you want project sources, saved deliverables, and reviewable work together across recurring tasks. Claude supplies the reasoning; Workspace provides the allowed tools and the place where you inspect and reuse the files.

### Will it import all my Claude conversations?

No. The connection does not automatically copy your Claude conversation. Ask the assistant to save a concise handoff, relevant decisions, and the result in the selected Project so another task can read them.

### Can I see what Claude is doing?

Managed tasks record progress and results in Workspace Sessions. Open the Session to watch and inspect the saved files. Take over stops that task and disconnects its MCP connection; already submitted external effects cannot be recalled.

### Does this require Claude Code or a terminal?

The hosted MCP route uses a compatible Claude custom connector and browser authorization. It does not require a Clanker desktop installation or terminal. An agent with terminal and HTTP access can use the separate live HTTP guide instead.
