A practical Workspace guide

One familiar job. Your own specialist.

Create or customize an Agent in My Agents, give it a specific job, and add the instructions, reference files, Skills, and Tools it needs. Test one example, refine the instructions, and reuse the Agent for similar work.

Start with $20 in included credits. See usage and plans.

Define what good work looks like

Start with a recurring job you already understand. Name what the Agent receives, what it should return, and what should make it stop to ask you. A narrow first role is easier to evaluate than a promise to handle your whole business.

My Agent can remain your generalist. Create a personal Agent when a role needs its own instructions, tone, and reference material. Keep changing client facts in the relevant Project rather than embedding them forever in the role.

Choose its methods and access

A Skill supplies a reusable method; a Tool performs an operation. Add the Skills and selected Tools that match the work, then review the Agent’s capabilities. Instructions alone do not connect an external account or grant access to a file.

Set the Session approval mode deliberately. Ask lets you review changes first; AUTO approves enabled actions. An Agent intended only to prepare a draft should have a different access profile from one intended to operate systems.

Test before you depend on it

Use one example with a known answer. Check whether the Agent cites the right sources, follows the checklist, and flags missing facts. Give it an incomplete input as a second test to see whether it asks or guesses.

Save the improved Agent and use version history when you need to restore an earlier setup. You can also inspect a Marketplace Agent and customize your copy. Review its instructions and capabilities before giving it your real work.

Try it with a small example.

Open Workspace

Copy, open a Session, and paste your prompt. It is not sent automatically.

Common questions.

Can I make my own Agent and share it?

Yes. Describe the job in plain English, then customize the Agent’s personality, instructions, knowledge, skills, and tools. Test it privately in Workspace. When it is ready, create a private link so someone can sign in and add a copy, or review and publish a separate version to the Agent Marketplace.

What is the difference between an Agent, a Skill, and a Tool?

An Agent is the assistant with instructions and selected capabilities. A Skill supplies a reusable method. A Tool performs a reusable operation. Choose only the files, skills, and tools the Agent needs, then test it on one familiar task.

How do I control approvals?

Session settings include Ask, Notify, and AUTO. Choose Ask when you want to review changes first. AUTO approves all enabled actions, so check the Agent’s access and capabilities before using it.
