Workspace email accounts
Can I give my Workspace an email address?
Yes. Business, Business Pro, and eligible Enterprise accounts can have up to five addresses at email.clankercloud.ai. Enterprise access follows your agreed account entitlements; Unlimited accounts also qualify. Create and manage addresses in Settings → Email accounts or a Project’s Email tab. These addresses are separate from personal email accounts connected through Channels.
How do email requests work?
Choose a Project, including General, and save the email addresses allowed to send requests. You can select a custom Agent or choose No agent to use your regular session defaults. Once saved, requests from those senders start automatically with no confirmation for each email. Each new email thread creates one Workspace Session; replies continue that Session, and the response is emailed when the work finishes. Email Sessions can use the Project’s files, tools and loops like other Sessions.
Can I rename, delete, or move an email address?
Yes. Manage addresses in Settings → Email accounts or the Project’s Email tab. Renaming changes the actual email address, stops requests to the old address, and keeps existing conversations. Deleting stops incoming requests and outgoing replies while preserving Workspace conversations and freeing a slot. Moving an address changes the Project for new threads; existing threads stay with their original Project and sender permissions.
Can I continue an email conversation in Workspace?
Yes. Email Sessions have an email icon. Opening a Session keeps email replies enabled. Sending your first message in Workspace switches that thread to a regular Session and permanently stops email replies for that thread.
Image generation
Can Clanker Cloud generate and edit images?
Gemini image generation is being introduced behind an account availability switch. Check Image generation in the Workspace Guide & FAQ and discover the installed client’s tools before using it. When enabled, a request creates one 1K PNG and can use up to three PNG or JPEG reference images from the same Project. This initial integration is unavailable for Business and protected inference setups. Connecting Google Drive is not required.
Where are generated images saved?
Images are saved as new files in the Project that requested them, with preview and download controls in Workspace Sessions. Existing files are preserved. Desktop chat uses the current Project’s existing Workspace sync link and attempts a local copy without overwriting files; an unsuccessful local copy leaves the cloud file available. Desktop MCP clients explicitly select a hosted Project. Unsynced desktop Projects must be linked first.
Which agents can use image generation?
When deployed and enabled, the integration supports Workspace Sessions, guided and hosted Agents, schedules, reusable Tools, external OAuth MCP, BYOA, project-scoped MCP keys, desktop chat, and desktop MCP. Existing agent selections stay unchanged. Select image tools for the Agent or BYOA binding. OAuth clients need execution permission; project-scoped keys need the optional image generation permission. Installed client versions and account availability determine which tools are usable.
Does image generation use credits, and can I cancel it?
Generation uses credits with a default ceiling of 50 credits per request; the ceiling is not a fixed price. Follow the existing job until it returns a saved image. Cancellation can stop further work, but an already submitted provider request may still incur usage. If the outcome is uncertain, inspect the existing job and Project Files before requesting another generation.
Business capabilities and data controls
What does Business include?
Business costs $50 per month and includes $200 in monthly subscription credits, 1 TB of Workspace storage and videos up to 2 GB each. It includes organization data controls and Gemini ZDR for approved requests. Subscription credits top up to the plan allowance on paid renewal; they are not duplicated when you create an organization.
How do memory and learning controls work?
Owners and authorized organization admins can disable automatic memory use and new learning. Existing memory remains available for review and deletion. Enabling memory at the policy level allows members to use it; it does not require them to turn it on.
What happens when sharing is disabled?
The sharing policy blocks new share links and access through existing file, Session and Agent links. Copies that recipients already downloaded or imported cannot be recalled.
Which connected tools can administrators control?
The policy controls managed connections, MCP, external agent connections and Channels. Connected services retain their own data policies. These controls do not restrict internet access from customer scripts or connected computers.
How does project retention work?
Keep projects until explicitly deleted, or confirm automatic whole-project deletion after 30, 90 or 365 days. Existing projects receive a full interval when the rule changes; new projects use their creation date. Editing does not restart the clock. General and unassigned content, global Agents and global Skills require explicit deletion.
How is deletion completed?
Deletion tracks cleanup across project files, retained revisions, indexes and runtime data. New writes are blocked during deletion, and failed cleanup is retried. A started deletion cannot be cancelled by changing the retention rule. Recovery copies and backups expire separately; deletion is not an immediate purge of every backup.
What happens to feedback and diagnostics?
The restricted Business profile disables content-bearing feedback and diagnostics. Operational and billing metadata may still be retained. This restriction does not mean that saved conversations, files, memory or tool results are removed.
Who can manage Business data policies?
Only the owner or an authorized organization admin can change an enrolled Workspace policy. Members can review it. Policy changes create audit records, and restricted-profile agreement acceptance is recorded with its version. The original creator’s Business subscription covers organization features, while organization credits and spending limits remain separate. With ZDR enabled, every member must have their own Business access.
What does Gemini ZDR cover?
With ZDR enabled, approved Gemini model requests use the verified Vertex AI processing path. Saved Workspace conversations, files, memory, tool results and recovery copies remain in Clanker Cloud. The restricted profile excludes voice, media analysis, AI indexing, App builds, managed BYOA inference and authenticated Marketplace features. Business uses shared infrastructure; dedicated deployment, residency and custom guarantees require a separately agreed Enterprise plan.
Where can I review these settings?
Settings and Organizations show a compact Gemini ZDR summary with an On/Off indicator. Expand View data controls and details to review the policy, retention choices and processing boundaries. In Organizations, create or select an organization first; personal settings remain separate. Change plan opens the account subscription page.
Organizations, admins and Business data controls
Who can create or join an organization?
Any account can create an organization or join by invitation, including Free, Lite and Pro. Verify your sign-in email, open Organizations, enter a name and choose Create. You become the owner with administrator access. Shared work belongs to the organization; your personal Workspace stays separate.
How do I join or make someone an admin?
An owner or admin invites your verified sign-in email from People. Accept under Organizations using that account. You receive the assigned role; joining does not make you an admin. Owners and admins can invite another admin or change an existing member’s role to admin in People. Admins manage people, shared work and data controls. Only owners can change ownership, and at least one owner must remain. Owners and billing-role members manage organization billing. Builders can build; members and guests use work they have permission to access.
Does the creator’s Business subscription cover the organization?
The original creator’s active Business subscription covers the organization’s Business features. Adding or promoting an admin does not change the sponsor. Organization credits and spending limits stay separate; creating an organization does not copy the creator’s monthly credits. Another member’s Business subscription does not replace the creator’s subscription.
Who can join an organization with Gemini ZDR enabled?
Every member needs their own Business access, including owners, admins, billing members and contractor guests. All existing members must qualify before ZDR can be enabled. An ineligible invitee must upgrade before accepting. If a member loses Business access, their organization access is suspended until they restore it; their stored work is not deleted. This also applies to the creator and last owner. If the creator’s Business eligibility lapses, organization Business inference pauses. Existing data restrictions and retention continue. Requests do not fall back to normal providers. Ordinary organizations without ZDR remain open to every account tier.
What data controls can organization admins manage?
Open Organizations → Data controls. Owners and admins control memory and learning, share links, managed connections and whole-project retention. Memory, sharing and managed connections start off, with content diagnostics off. Keep projects until deleted or choose 30, 90 or 365 days; editing does not restart the clock. General content and global Agents and Skills require explicit deletion. Cleanup and backup expiry are separate.
Does Gemini ZDR mean Clanker stores no organization data?
No. With Gemini ZDR enabled, ZDR applies to approved Gemini model requests through Vertex AI. Clanker still stores saved conversations, files, memory, tool results and recovery state. Connected services have their own policies. Shared Business infrastructure has no dedicated-deployment or residency guarantee. Voice, media analysis, AI indexing, App builds, managed BYOA inference and authenticated Marketplace features are unavailable under the restricted profile. Your Workspace settings show your Gemini ZDR status.
Getting started in Workspace
What is Clanker Cloud?
Clanker Cloud brings AI agents and their tools into one place. Start in the browser-based Workspace to research, write, work with files, build Apps, and automate recurring tasks. Connect a computer or use cloud environments when the job needs more tools.
Is Clanker Cloud only for DevOps?
No. Start in Workspace for research, writing, documents, spreadsheets, custom Agents, Apps, and recurring work. Clanker DevOps remains available for infrastructure operations; it is one supported workflow.
Can I make my own Agent and share it?
Yes. Describe the job in plain English, then customize the Agent’s personality, instructions, knowledge, skills, and tools. Test it privately in Workspace. When it is ready, create a private link so someone can sign in and add a copy, or review and publish a separate version to the Agent Marketplace.
Do I need to install anything?
You can start in Workspace from your browser. Working with your own computer requires the Clanker desktop app and an approved connection to that device. Cloud browsers, cloud desktops, and hosted compute run separately from your computer.
What is the difference between a Project, a Session, and an Agent?
A Project keeps related files, instructions, and work together. A Session is a conversation where work happens and progress is recorded. An Agent is the assistant doing the work, with its own instructions, skills, and selected tools.
Can it work while my laptop is closed?
Hosted Loops and Schedules can run recurring work in the cloud. Tasks using a connected computer still need that computer to be online and available. Simply starting a browser conversation does not turn it into a recurring background task.
How much does it cost to try?
Every new Clanker Cloud account starts with $20 in included credits. AI work and cloud environments use credits at their applicable rates. You can buy more credits or choose a monthly plan; see Pricing for current rates and allowances.
Projects, files, and research
What can I bring into a Project?
Upload documents, spreadsheets, PDFs, images, and presentations, or attach files and paste images in a Session. Add Project instructions to explain the audience, preferred format, and facts the Agent should use.
Can I turn notes into a client report?
Yes. Add notes and files to a Project, ask for progress, decisions, blockers, and next steps, and review the draft against your source material. Ask for a different structure or tone before downloading or sending it.
Where do I find and review the finished files?
Open your Project’s Files tab or General → Files. In a Session, Preview opens a side panel where you can select a file. Use page, sheet, or slide controls where available, check the contents, and download the result.
Can I work with Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets?
The experimental Google connection lets you choose accessible files in External Apps, create or edit Docs and Sheets from a Session, and save copies to a Project. Saving a copy is not automatic live sync; request a fresh copy when you need updates.
How do I reuse research and useful answers?
Keep quick references in Bookmarks. Save lasting knowledge in Archive → Wiki, open articles to follow their source links, and keep related files and instructions in a Project. Check cited sources before relying on a research result.
Bring your own agent (BYOA)
What is BYOA, and how do I start?
BYOA means bring your own agent. When BYOA is available for your account, open BYOA → Add agent, choose a harness, configure its connection, then review its name, tag, Project and access. Deploy installs and checks a supported cloud agent. Finish any requested sign-in, then select Message agent or tag it in a Session in the same Project. Your agent keeps its own runtime.
Can Hermes and OpenClaw use Clanker inference and Workspace tools together?
Yes. Choose Clanker Cloud inference, a supported model from the BYOA picker, and your own Clanker API key from Secrets. Hermes and OpenClaw can use that model while calling the Workspace tools you allow. The preview supports configured Gemini/Kimi models with text and tool calls. Model use consumes your Clanker credits. Your account key stays encrypted on the backend; the agent receives a temporary run credential.
What can my external agent do in Workspace?
You choose its Project, Workspace tools, connected accounts and published custom tools. Supported actions include reading and saving Project files, using Session context, working with Apps and calling selected connections. Changes and external actions ask for approval by default. BYOA does not yet expose direct Cloud Browser or Cloud Desktop control, or every tool available to ordinary Workspace Agents.
Where does the agent run?
Deploy supported OpenClaw, Hermes and Codex agents on Clanker Cloud, or connect a compatible enrolled computer or your own agent host. Your computer must be paired, approved and online. An existing host needs the BYOA adapter; a raw OpenClaw gateway URL alone is insufficient. Hosting and inference are independent, so a supported agent on your computer can still use Clanker inference.
Can an agent run forever, and does tagging it start compute?
Cloud BYOA runs for setup and accepted tasks, with the allowance shown in BYOA. The default is one hour including saving, and operators can configure it. Closing the tab does not stop an active operation. When a run ends, compute stops; a later accepted tag starts compute again and restores saved state. This preview does not keep an agent process online forever. Use Stop agent when you want it to stop.
What stays saved when compute stops?
The agent registration, Sessions, Project files and successfully saved private agent files remain. Private snapshots can preserve configuration, memory, skills and files in the agent home. BYOA shows the last confirmed save. Unsaved changes and running-process memory may be lost after a crash. A time limit does not delete the registration, but an interrupted task may need review and a new message; uncertain actions are not automatically replayed.
Can I connect my agent to Telegram?
Where Telegram connection is available, add a dedicated bot token in Secrets, choose the numeric Telegram users allowed to contact it, and confirm the recipients. Accepted private text messages can wake the cloud agent through Workspace and create a Session you can review. This uses the Workspace Telegram connection; it does not keep the agent’s native Telegram listener running forever. Review the Session if delivery is uncertain. Regular Channels, Loops and Schedules do not yet run native BYOA harnesses.
Does this install the ChatGPT or Claude desktop app?
BYOA connects agent runtimes, not desktop application windows. Codex supports ChatGPT sign-in or an OpenAI API key. Claude Code uses its own provider credential or native sign-in on your computer or agent host; hosted Claude Code installation is unavailable in this preview. Use your own authorized provider account. Codex and Claude Code use their own provider inference rather than Clanker inference in this preview.
What does a BYOA agent cost?
Hosted setup, tasks and approval waits consume Workspace compute credits. Inference is charged separately: Clanker inference uses your existing Clanker credits and limits, while agent-provider inference uses that provider account. Selected paid Workspace tools keep their normal charges. Review the model, runtime allowance, storage allowance and approvals before deploying. A saved registration does not mean compute runs continuously.
Agents, Apps, Tools, and recurring work
What is the difference between an Agent, a Skill, and a Tool?
An Agent is the assistant with instructions and selected capabilities. A Skill supplies a reusable method. A Tool performs a reusable operation. Choose only the files, skills, and tools the Agent needs, then test it on one familiar task.
Can I build an App from a spreadsheet or idea?
Yes. Open Apps and describe the user, inputs, and actions you need. Start with sample data, inspect the private preview, try the main actions on large and small screens, and ask for changes before sharing or publishing.
Should I use a Loop or a Schedule?
Use a Loop for work that repeats after the previous run and a delay. Use a Schedule for work at set times. Test the task in a Session first, then choose its Project, Agent, goal, timing, and notification rule.
Can recurring work run scripts while I am away?
Allow computer jobs lets a Loop or Schedule run scripts and commands while your browser is closed. Its Agent must permit unattended work; Answer only, Research, and Always ask Agents cannot run unattended computer jobs. Review progress and job results in the worker history.
How do I control approvals?
Session settings include Ask, Notify, and AUTO. Choose Ask when you want to review changes first. AUTO approves all enabled actions, so check the Agent’s access and capabilities before using it.
Browser, cloud, and connected computers
Can a normal Session see or control my computer?
No. A normal Session works with your writing, research, Project files, and selected tools. Use Cloud browser for website interactions, cloud compute for scripts, or an explicitly connected computer for its local files and apps.
What is Clanker Secretary?
Clanker Secretary handles computer work on an enrolled computer. For remote access, install the desktop app, enable Remote Connection, and select the machine that has the files and apps you need. That machine must stay online and available.
How does a computer task become a cloud workflow?
Test the task once, identify its reusable inputs and output, then configure a hosted Loop or Schedule for steps that can run in the cloud. Steps needing your connected computer still require that computer to be online; a browser conversation alone is not a recurring worker.
Does closing a viewer stop its computer?
Not necessarily. Active browsers, desktops, and cloud computers can continue using credits. Use their stop or shutdown controls when you finish. Availability and controls are shown in Workspace.
Teams, Businesses, Security, and Plans
What uses credits in Workspace?
Agent work, voice, browsers, cloud computers, Apps, and recurring work can use credits at different rates. Loops use 10× the model tokens, with computer usage charged separately. Review current rates and your balance, and stop active work you no longer need.
What is the Business plan?
Business is the $50 monthly plan with $200 in monthly subscription credits, 1 TB of Workspace storage, organization data controls and Gemini ZDR. The creator’s Business plan covers organization features; all members of a ZDR organization need their own Business access.
Can Clanker Cloud run in our cloud or a private environment?
Customer-cloud, on-premises, protected, and sovereign deployments are separately contracted. They must be scoped, delivered, verified, and activated in writing before private or regulated data is used; they are not current self-service features.
Do cloud credentials and AI keys leave the machine?
In the normal desktop provider path, cloud credentials and bring-your-own AI keys stay on the local machine. Hosted sandboxes, inference, remote Secretary, and cloud workflows have separate service and data boundaries, so only use data appropriate for the active plan and environment.
Does a plan make us compliant automatically?
No. A plan name, selected region, configuration check, or onboarding step is not a SOC 2, HIPAA, CJIS, CIS, GDPR, or other compliance certification. Required agreements, controls, provider eligibility, and activation must be reviewed for the organization's use case.
How are Lite, Pro, Business, and Business Pro priced?
Lite is $9.99 per month with $10 in subscription credits, Pro is $19.99 with $20, Business is $50 with $200, and Business Pro is $199.99 with $500 and full customer support. Business Pro also offers yearly billing at $2,160/year ($180/month), approximately 10% off, with $500 in credits refilled monthly. Each monthly allowance period tops subscription credits up to the plan quota when the balance is below it. Additional welcome, purchased, promotional, and referral credits remain separate and are used after subscription credits.
Clanker DevOps, Builders, and Models
What does Clanker DevOps do?
Clanker DevOps is the infrastructure workspace for deployments, cloud maintenance, incidents, cost checks, security scans, Kubernetes, GitHub, live context, MCP agents, and reviewable change plans.
Which infrastructure providers are supported?
Clanker Cloud supports AWS, GCP, Azure, Oracle Cloud, Tencent Cloud, Kubernetes, Cloudflare, Hetzner, Railway, GitHub workflows, and more over time. Ansible and Slurm are planned rather than current support.
Can builders deploy an AI-built app?
Yes. Connect the relevant repository and provider context, let Clanker Cloud inspect the current state, review the deployment plan, and approve the execution path before production changes.
Can I bring my own models and keys?
Yes. Clanker Cloud supports bring-your-own keys, local models, and OpenAI-compatible endpoints so users and teams can choose the model path that fits the workflow and data boundary.
Does Clanker Cloud support Kubernetes?
Yes. Kubernetes support includes EKS, GKE, and AKS for inspection, troubleshooting, live context, cost and security checks, and reviewed operational plans.
