When each is a practical fit
Choose based on what is already part of your work. A Clanker Project can bring a specialist Agent, saved files, a private App, and recurring workers into a familiar set of surfaces. Try it when that organization matches how you want to operate.
If your team already works in ChatGPT Projects and the available tools produce the output you need, staying there may avoid unnecessary switching. The existence of overlapping features means a concrete trial is more useful than a yes/no marketing checklist.
Run a fair comparison
Use the same three source files and ask each product for the same report or decision table. Compare factual accuracy, source traceability, file usability, iteration effort, and what you can retrieve in a later session. Check the actual account rather than assuming every advertised feature is available.
