A reusable starting point

Founder’s Research Assistant: a business role you can make your own.

Turn customer interviews and an approved brief into a sourced research summary and next experiment. This ready-to-configure kit includes reusable Agent instructions, fictional source files, a starting prompt and a review checklist. Choose your own material or inspect a sample in Workspace before opening an editable, unsent Session draft. It does not install an Agent or run work automatically.

Start with $20 in included credits. See usage and plans.

A clear job for startup founders and business owners

Read the permitted interview packet and launch brief. Cite interview IDs. Separate evidence, interpretation, approved scope and proposals. Keep the next experiment within the approved pilot.

Check every theme against interview IDs. A small packet does not establish market size. The founder approves the experiment owner and dates.

Inspect the example before trying the role

Input: Four fictional Spruce Lane interviews and a launch brief with an approved reporting pilot.

Output: The downloadable starter contains an authored launch-plan excerpt. The prompt requests research-brief.md and launch-plan.md when you run the task; those separate files are not recorded run artifacts.

Review criteria: Trace the reporting theme to I1, I2 and I3. Keep I4’s inventory need outside the approved pilot. Leave the pilot owner, start date and success criteria for the founder to agree.

What this example establishes: A source-to-theme example and a proposed next experiment that stays within the supplied scope.

Limitations: Four interviews do not establish market size or product-market fit. Two-week timing remains proposed. Authored fictional illustration, not an executed Agent run or customer result. These files do not establish runtime support or acceptance by ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or another assistant.

Configure the role, then test it

Create an Agent in Workspace. Give it a name and paste the downloadable instructions into its instructions field. Choose the relevant Tools, add permitted reference material, and test one fictional example before using business files.

Project files and writing Tools. Add web research only for a separately defined question, with sources and dates. No external connection is needed for this sample.

The kit is a configuration guide. Opening it does not create an Agent, attach files, connect services or enable recurring work.

Review a starting task in Workspace

Open the kit in Workspace, sign in if needed, inspect the source files and prompt, then choose your own material or the fictional sample. The sample prompt carries the fictional source text; source downloads remain available for inspection.

Your choice opens one editable, unsent Session draft. Work begins only when you send it and uses available credits. Save useful outputs in the relevant Project, review them, and reuse your tested Agent for the next cycle.

Use the role with your preferred assistant

Bring the Founder’s Research Assistant method to your preferred assistant, or keep working directly in Clanker.

Package version 1.0.0 · reviewed 2026-10-27. Setup documented · client testing pending. These downloads are not submitted to an official directory or catalog.

ChatGPT and Codex

A portable plugin with the three role Skills, source packets and Clanker MCP configuration.

  1. Extract the ZIP and inspect plugin.json, mcp.json and the role Skills. The included local marketplace example is for supported ChatGPT desktop and Codex setups.
  2. In ChatGPT on the web, use Add custom MCP server with the endpoint below; a downloaded ZIP is not a public directory listing. Workspace permissions and client availability apply.
  3. Approve account access in the browser, start with Read, and ask for the setup Skill or paste the preparation instruction below. Enable only the additional access needed when you choose to save or run work.

Claude

Use the same role instructions with a supported Claude remote connector.

  1. Add Clanker Cloud Workspace as a custom connector in Claude, using the MCP endpoint below. Organization owners may need to add it before members connect.
  2. Complete browser authorization, choose the permissions you want and enable the connector in your conversation.
  3. Paste the preparation instruction below. Claude Code has a separate MCP setup route; follow its current guide if you use the CLI.
Gemini web and mobile

Eligible Gemini Apps accounts can add Clanker as a custom connected app.

  1. Google currently requires a personal Google account, age 18+, US eligibility, English and Keep Activity on. Work and school accounts do not use this consumer route.
  2. If eligible, add the MCP URL in the Gemini web app’s Connected Apps settings and complete authorization. The connection can then be used on supported mobile apps.
  3. Select the custom app in your conversation and paste the preparation instruction. If this option is unavailable, use the separate Gemini CLI route or an available Gemini model inside Clanker.
Gemini CLI

An extension with the role Skills, fictional packets and a small read-first tool selection.

  1. Extract and inspect the extension, then run gemini extensions install ./clanker-workspace-business-kits-gemini from its parent directory. Review the client’s install prompt and restart the CLI session.
  2. Run /mcp auth clanker-workspace and approve the connection in your browser. The default setup exposes only status, discovery and read tools; OAuth requires a usable browser/callback route.
  3. Ask for one packaged role or paste the preparation instruction. Before saving or execution, review the required permissions and deliberately expand the tool selection using the included guide.

OpenClaw

A disabled-by-default MCP configuration example and the same reusable role packet.

  1. Inspect openclaw.config.example.json and merge just the named server into your existing configuration. Keep your other settings; the example starts disabled.
  2. When ready, enable that entry, complete OAuth through the current OpenClaw sign-in flow, and run openclaw mcp doctor clanker-workspace --probe.
  3. Ask for the selected role using its packaged instructions. The initial tool filter is read-first; approve any additional task access and enable only the needed tools before changing data or running work.

Hermes

A disabled-by-default remote OAuth configuration example with reusable role Skills.

  1. Inspect hermes.config.example.yaml and merge the named mcp_servers entry into your existing Hermes configuration. The example starts disabled and contains no credentials.
  2. When ready, enable the entry and run hermes mcp login clanker-workspace from an interactive terminal. Use the documented SSH/headless callback setup if the agent runs remotely.
  3. Reload MCP discovery and ask Hermes to call workspace_status once. Then choose a role and review the needed permissions and tools before saving or execution.

This instruction prepares a task. It does not authorize creating resources or running a sample.

Clanker MCP endpoint: https://workspace.clankercloud.ai/mcp

Review the files before installing. Client setup can contact the MCP endpoint; account access needs your browser approval. Work uses your available Clanker credits when you run it. Your assistant provider’s data policies also apply. ZDR, data residency and encryption are coming soon.

Choose access before adding business data

Use only material you are permitted to supply and review the selected Tools and approval mode. ZDR, data residency and encryption are coming soon. Do not use these planned capabilities as current deployment guarantees.

An illustrative result.

Fictional sample, written to show the expected structure. Your result depends on your inputs and needs review.

# Reporting pilot — proposed next step

Evidence: I1, I2 and I3 describe weekly reporting work. I4 prioritizes inventory and is outside the pilot.

Approved scope: uploaded notes or exports → saved draft for human review.

Proposed experiment: invite a small permitted pilot group to try one reporting task; assess the resulting draft and review effort.

Decisions needed: pilot owner, start date and success criteria. Two-week timing remains proposed.

Authored fictional example; not an executed Agent result.

Before you use the result.

  • The brief links themes to the correct interviews.
  • The pilot uses the approved scope.
  • The proposed owner and start date are still decisions to make.

Common questions.

Does this kit install or run an Agent?

Client packages add reusable instructions or reviewed connection configuration to supported assistants. They do not create an Agent in Clanker or run a business task. Review the kit, configure your Clanker Agent if wanted and choose when to run the task. Opening a Session draft does not send its prompt.

Can I use my existing assistant?

You can work directly in Clanker or use the documented ChatGPT/Codex, Claude, Gemini, OpenClaw or Hermes setup. Downloadable packages and configuration examples include the same fictional inputs and prompts. Official directory submission and authenticated client acceptance are pending; availability depends on the client, account and permissions.
