A conversation can describe a finished report while the saved file still contains an earlier date or a missing section. Workspace file previews let you open the artifact, inspect its contents, and keep giving feedback in the Session that produced it.
This is useful when your result is a document, spreadsheet, presentation, PDF, image, or another supported file. The review should follow the format and the decision the file needs to support.
Open Files from either side of the work
For ongoing work, open the Project's Files tab. General has its own Files area for outputs outside a named Project. You can upload source material there and return later to generated results.
Inside a Session, open Space at the top right when the side panel is closed. Its Files tab lists saved Project files. Opening a file or App gives it a preview tab, so you can move between the conversation and the result without asking the Agent to mention the file again.
The file you open should match the task and revision you intend to review. If you requested report-october.md, check that specific output instead of relying on a similarly named earlier draft.
Match the review to the format
Use available page, sheet, and slide controls to inspect longer results. A small review plan makes the process concrete:
| Format | Useful checks |
|---|---|
| Document or PDF | Opening, later sections, names, dates, and source references. |
| Spreadsheet | Sheet names, units, missing values, saved totals, and the underlying rows. |
| Presentation | Slide order, claims, source notes, and the final request to the audience. |
| Image | Intended content, dimensions where relevant, and use in the surrounding deliverable. |
| Text or Markdown | Complete sections, readable tables, and working source links. |
Treat the preview as a way to inspect the content it supports. For a workbook, saved values are shown when available; formulas without saved results can appear as formulas. The preview does not recalculate the workbook. Download and open it in an appropriate spreadsheet application when you need calculation or a complete view beyond displayed preview limits.
For a document or presentation that will be distributed, also check the downloaded file in the application your recipients will use when its final formatting matters. That check serves a different purpose from reviewing the draft's claims beside the chat.
Give feedback tied to the visible result
Suppose a fictional launch presentation says “Supplier images arrive Friday,” while the source note says the delivery date is unconfirmed. Request the correction at the point where the mistake appears:
On the launch timeline slide, change the supplier image date to “awaiting confirmation.” Update any dependent sentence in the summary. Keep the other approved milestones unchanged and save the revised file for review.
Reopen the saved result and check both places. For a spreadsheet error, identify the sheet, row or column, intended units, and supporting source. For an omitted document section, name the heading and what it should contain.
This makes the revision easier to evaluate. “Improve it” leaves the Agent to guess whether you mean accuracy, layout, tone, or all three.
Finish with a file you can use
Download the reviewed output when you need it outside Workspace. Keep the source packet and material decisions in the Project so another Session can understand where the result came from.
If the next step is collaboration, use the private file sharing walkthrough. If you want to preserve an explanation from the conversation, use Bookmarks or Wiki. Workspace gives the file and the reasoning places to live; choose both when future work will need them.
